How does fileAI protect my data?

Every file is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest (AES-256), with role-based access controls and audit logs. fileAI runs on ISO 27001-certified infrastructure, and its controls are independently audited for SOC 2 Type 2. fileAI is GDPR and HIPAA compliant.For stricter isolation, private cloud and on-premise deployments are available. See certifications and controls in the [trust portal](https://trust.file.ai).To keep nothing after processing, upload with `isEphemeral: true` and the file and its data are deleted once processed. See [Uploads](/ingest/uploads#upload-options).

Which file types can I upload?

PDF, Word, images, spreadsheets, presentations, plain text, audio and ZIP archives. GIF and XLSM are not accepted. See [Supported file types](/ingest/supported-files) for the full list, size limits and MIME types.

Can I connect fileAI to my existing tools?

Yes. fileAI connects with:

*   Google Drive and Google Sheets
*   Dropbox
*   OneDrive
*   Email
*   Xero ([Xero export](/deliver/xero-export))
*   The [API](/quickstart/api) and the [MCP server](/mcp/overview)

With MCP, clients such as [Claude](/mcp/claude) and [Cursor](/mcp/connect) can use fileAI directly and combine it with other MCP servers, such as Notion. Your agents can read OCR text, classifications and extracted fields without a custom integration.

How accurate is fileAI?

fileAI is built to extract accurately, but like any AI system it can make mistakes. In the app, **citations** show where each value came from in the file, and **validations** flag values that need a person to check them. How does pricing work?

fileScout is metered per page and fileForensics per completed run. See [Billing and credits](/account/billing) for plans, credits and what is metered, and the [pricing page](https://file.ai/pricing) for prices.
