What to know after you connect Claude: projects, file uploads, disconnecting and fixing problems.

Copy pageCopy page

Set up the connector first: see [Connect a client](/mcp/connect). This page covers what’s specific to Claude. For server URLs per region, sign-in versus API keys, safety guards and the note on personal information, see the [MCP server overview](/mcp/overview).

](#working-with-projects)

Working with projects

One connection covers every project you can open in the workspaces you picked. Ask Claude to **list your projects** first; it calls `list_projects` and then passes the project’s id as `project_id` to the other tools.

```
List my fileAI projects, then show the invoices uploaded to Finance this week.
```

Before you send documents with personal information through Claude, read [Personal information](/mcp/overview#personal-information).

](#file-uploads)

File uploads

Claude uploads files from its code sandbox straight to fileAI storage. The sandbox can only reach domains you allow, so add your instance’s storage domain once. Every other tool works without it.

1

Open Capabilities

In Claude, go to **Settings → Capabilities**. On Team and Enterprise plans, an admin does this in **Admin settings → Capabilities**.

2

Turn on code execution

Make sure **Code execution and file creation** is on.

3

Allow the storage domain

Under **Allow network egress**, choose **Package managers and specific domains** and add the domain for your instance.

Instance

Domain to allow

Default (US)

`*.s3.us-west-2.amazonaws.com`

`au`

`*.s3.ap-southeast-2.amazonaws.com`

`sg`

`*.s3.ap-southeast-1.amazonaws.com`

`jp`

`*.s3.ap-northeast-1.amazonaws.com`

Use the row for the instance in your MCP server URL; see [Server URLs](/mcp/overview#server-urls).

Want the narrowest rule? Allow only the fileAI bucket host instead: `bluesheets-prod-file-upload-bucket.s3.us-west-2.amazonaws.com` (Default), `au-bluesheets-prod-file-upload-bucket.s3.ap-southeast-2.amazonaws.com`, `sg-bluesheets-prod-file-upload-bucket.s3.ap-southeast-1.amazonaws.com` or `jp-bluesheets-prod-file-upload-bucket.s3.ap-northeast-1.amazonaws.com`.

For how the upload works step by step, see [Uploading a file](/mcp/tools#uploading-a-file).

[

](#switch-or-disconnect)

Switch or disconnect

* **Add another workspace:** connect again and tick it. New projects inside a connected workspace need nothing; Claude sees them as soon as you can.
* **Disconnect:** in fileAI, open **Profile → Connected apps** and click **Revoke**. Claude loses access right away.
* **Removed from a project or workspace:** Claude loses access to it within a minute.

Removing the connector in Claude alone doesn’t revoke access. Revoke it in fileAI under **Profile → Connected apps**.

Troubleshooting

Problem

Fix

The fileAI page says the request is invalid

Start again from **Connect** in Claude. The link expires after a few minutes.

Claude says your fileAI connection has expired or is no longer valid

Reconnect fileAI in Claude’s connector settings, then try again.

A project is missing in Claude

Check you can open it in the fileAI app with the same account.

Uploading a file fails, other tools work

Allow your instance’s storage domain. See [File uploads](#file-uploads).

”This action needs a project admin”

Ask a project admin, or make the change in the fileAI app.
